If you're short on space and need a small dinghy then you've come to the
right place! If easy storage, light weight, stability and the ability to
row, motor or sail is high on your list of priorities then look no further.
We offer four different dinghies so there's sure to be one that meets your
needs. They are all specifically designed to be inexpensively built from
easy to find materials. Our unique step by step illustrated instructions
simplify the building process so that anyone can easily build themselves a
great little boat.
The Fliptail
is the latest addition to the Woodenwidget family. Pretty, functional
and easy to build. The Fliptail is a simple folding dinghy consisting of a
central keel with two drop down floors, four hinged hoops and a reinforced
PVC cloth skin.
It assembles in moments and rows and sails extremely well. Tough, light and
resilient, with a 3.3hp motor it can also plane at speeds of up to 14 knots!
Available in both 6 and 7 foot versions.
The Stasha is the World's lightest nesting dinghy
weighing in at
about 10 kilos (22lbs) making it child's play to launch and retrieve.
The Stasha is an elegant design and is a delight to row and great fun to
sail. Despite it's light construction it is surprisingly strong.
The Stasha is made of two halves with a simple locking mechanism allowing it
to be easily assembled on deck, on shore or even in the water. As it's made from so few materials it
doesn't cost much to build.
The Origami
is a sturdy design that has stood the test of time. Like the Fliptail, the
Origami
has a central keel, two drop down floors and a
reinforced PVC skin. The Origami has plywood side panels which makes this
dinghy very robust.
Folding flat to just a few inches in moments and weighing from as little as
15 kilos (33lbs) she is easy to move around and stow. The Origami will take
an engine, rows very well and also sails. Available in 6 and 8 foot
versions.
The Deckster is the boat with a hole in it!
Designed to stow on deck at the foot of your yacht's mast, it's the hard
dinghy solution for the spatially challenged.
Like all our other designs, the Deckster is stable, rows well, takes an engine and
sails.
The Deckster does more, it can also use the revolutionary Hobie
Mirage drive allowing you to face forward and keep your hands free whilst in
motion. To learn more about
